Next Session is on 25th August 2017
What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra is also known as yogic sleep and is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, like the “going-to-sleep” stage. Don’t worry if you fall asleep in a session, we’ve all done it!
It is a state in which your body becomes completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the metaphysical world by following a set of verbal instructions. The practice of yoga relaxation has been found to reduce tension and anxiety. Symptoms of high anxiety such as headaches, giddiness, chest pains, palpitations, sweating and abdominal pain respond well to the sessions. Yoga Nidra has also been used to help people with post-traumatic stress disorder.
Candlelit Yoga Nidra sessions
Come and join Katie in her cosy yoga space for a relaxing evening of Yoga Nidra.
We will start the session with some simple yoga postures to help the body feel more comfortable followed by some simple breathing techniques to slow and calm the mind.
The body and mind will then be ready to settle into the guided relaxation or Yoga Nidra.
If this doesn’t sound yummy enough, we will end the session with night time tea and cake!
The next session:
- Friday 25th August
- Katie’s Yoga space, Hurst Road, Twyford
